Dan Skuta - 49ers Brief History


Dan Skuta enjoyed playing linebacker for the 49ers for two seasons (2013-2014)—as well as the opportunity to become but a small part of the franchise’s extensive and storied history. 


Skuta looks back fondly on his time with the club, and of the chance to play for one of the most legendary clubs in the history of the NFL.

49ers Historical Benchmarks

As Dan Skuta knows, the 49ers have an extensive historical background—one that finds its origins all the way back to 1946. 



Some of the more notable moments in franchise history include:
  • Its foundation as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) in 1946.

  • The team’s official entry into the NFL in 1949.

  • The team’s first NFL playoff appearance, which took place in 1957

  • Its relocation from Kezar Stadium to the historic Candlestick Park in 1971.

  • The franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance and victory, which occurred in 1981 (Super Bowl XVI)..
